1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and ITD Innovation Information Technology L.L.C, a company in the United Arab Emirates ("ITD", "we", "us"). They cover the Doroobi app and the website doroobi.com (together, "Doroobi"). By using Doroobi you accept these terms. Our privacy policy explains what Doroobi does with information; please read it too.
2. The main points
- Doroobi is free, needs no account and shows no ads.
- Your safety comes first: road signs, signals and the police always take priority over the app.
- Only send reports that are true. Do not misuse Doroobi or try to break it.
- Maps, traffic and reports come from drivers and open map data, so they are sometimes wrong.
- You can stop at any time by deleting the app.
3. What Doroobi does
Doroobi plans drives on live traffic. While you drive, it shares your anonymous speed so that everyone sees live traffic, and it lets drivers report and confirm things on the road, such as jams, roadwork, crashes, closed roads and flooding. It also compares toll and free routes and estimates the best time to leave.
Doroobi needs an internet connection. Any mobile-data charges from your network provider are yours to pay.
4. Who can use Doroobi
Doroobi is meant for drivers. You must be old enough to hold a driving licence where you use it. If you are not, do not use Doroobi.
5. Your permission to use Doroobi
As long as you follow these terms, we give you a personal, free, non-exclusive and non-transferable permission to use Doroobi for your own non-commercial use. We can withdraw it if you break these terms.
6. What you must not do
- Interfere with Doroobi, its servers or networks, for example with malware, spam, hacking, or by getting around rate limits or other protections.
- Send false reports or votes, create device codes in bulk, or pretend to be someone else.
- Use bots, scripts or other automated means to collect data from Doroobi, or copy its data in bulk.
- Copy, change, reverse engineer or take apart the app, except where the law allows this anyway.
- Use Doroobi or its data to build or run a competing product, resell it, or use it commercially, without our written permission.
- Use Doroobi to break the law or to harm, harass, stalk or threaten anyone.
7. Drive safely
Set your destination before you drive. If you need to report something, change a setting or read the screen for more than a glance, pull over safely first, or ask a passenger. Always follow the road signs, traffic signals, police instructions and the law. If Doroobi says something different from what is on the road, follow the road. You are responsible for how you drive.
8. Reports you send
Reports and votes must be accurate and lawful. Do not include anyone's personal information, offensive content, or advertising.
Reports are anonymous on the map. By sending a report you allow ITD to use, show, combine and keep it, worldwide and free of charge, to run and improve Doroobi. This permission continues after you stop using Doroobi, for reports already sent.
We may hide or remove any report, for example when other drivers say it is no longer there or when it breaks these terms. We are not obliged to publish any report.
9. Our content and other people's content
The Doroobi name and logo, the Doroobi Crew characters, the app and its design belong to ITD. You may not use them without our permission.
Map data comes from OpenStreetMap contributors under the Open Database Licence. The Lama Sans typeface is by Baianat. Third-party content keeps its own licence.
10. Stopping
You can stop using Doroobi at any time. Deleting the app removes everything it keeps on your phone; you can also use Settings › Privacy › Delete all Doroobi data. We do not keep an account for you.
If you break these terms, or to protect drivers or the service, we may block a device code or a network from using Doroobi, with or without notice.
11. Ads and links
Doroobi shows no ads today. If that changes, we will update these terms and the privacy policy first.
Doroobi links to services run by others, for example OpenStreetMap. We are not responsible for their content or their terms.
12. Messages and feedback
We may show service messages in the app, for example about changes. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them freely, without owing you anything.
13. No guarantees
We work hard to make Doroobi accurate and available, but we provide it "as is" and "as available". Routes, travel times, tolls, speed limits, places and reports can be wrong or out of date. Roads can be missing, closed or changed. Doroobi may sometimes be unavailable or have faults. To the extent the law allows, we give no promises beyond those in these terms.
14. Limits on our responsibility
To the extent the law allows, ITD and its staff are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by relying on Doroobi instead of the road, by inaccurate map data or reports, by other drivers, or by Doroobi being unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for fraud or harm caused on purpose.
15. If you break these terms
To the extent the law allows, you agree to compensate ITD for reasonable losses and costs, including legal costs, that result from your breaking these terms.
16. Privacy
Doroobi uses your location while the app is open to guide you and to share anonymous speed. It does not need your name, phone number or email. The privacy policy explains the details and your rights under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law.
17. Changes to Doroobi
We may change, add or remove features, or stop Doroobi altogether, temporarily or permanently. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you first.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we make an important change, we will say so in the app and on doroobi.com before it takes effect, and change the date at the top. If you keep using Doroobi after that, you accept the new terms. If you do not accept them, stop using Doroobi and delete the app.
19. Law and courts
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai. The courts of Dubai decide any dispute about them or about Doroobi. This does not take away any rights you have under the consumer protection law of the country where you live.
20. Other legal points
- You may not transfer your rights under these terms. ITD may transfer its rights and duties to another company that takes over Doroobi, provided your rights are not reduced.
- These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and ITD about Doroobi.
- If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.
- These terms do not create a partnership, employment or agency between you and ITD.
